About EFS Financial

About Jay Finn, CPA

Jay Finn began his career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1979. As a CPA, Jay and his team of experts provide services such as bookkeeping, payroll, corporation formation, and tax services to individuals as well as small businesses. During his 37 year career resolving tax and financial issues, Jay recognized that his clients and their employees were under-served by the investment portfolio management options available to small businesses.

By partnering with PlanMember Securitites Corp., Jay is able to leverage the buying-power of hundreds of thousands of investors around the globe to offer remarkable investment opportunities to his clients that are historically only available to large corporations. The PlanMember partnership also allows Jay to offer competitive Employer Benefits Packages to small businesses who would otherwise be priced out of the market.

The collective bargaining power of EFS Financial gives small businesses a competitive edge and allows them to attract the talent they need by providing benefits like medical, dental, vision, and 401k plans to their employees.

The Benefits of a Tax Professional

As a career CPA, Jay Finn’s tax expertise allows him to provide customized, strategic investment advice that considers his clients entire portfolio. This comprehensive approach to investing allows our clients to anticipate and manage tax implications that may arise.

The Jay Finn, CPA tax organization continues to serve clients to this very day and offers an array of products and services to small businesses that compliment the financial and investment services offered at EFS Financial.

Retirement Plans & Educational Workshops

EFS Financial is a forum for education to the non-profits and to the general public to retirement plans and to be an informed provider of educational workshops for school districts, administrator and faculty conferences or small groups by offering customized workshops for both the public and private sectors.

We serve educators and the public through our headquarters in Houston and through associates in, North Texas and other areas. Jay Allen Finn, founder and coordinator of EFS, is a Certified Public Accountant, formerly with the IRS. He has over 37 years experience solving complicated tax problems through his medium sized Houston tax firm, while devoting much of his time to retirement issues through EFS.

We offer programs geared to your specific needs and currently have openings for future workshops. Educators and the public frequently share with us that our programs provide a more professional alternative to financial educations.

All of our associates are trained to provide individualized, personal financial advice upon request. We welcome your input via e-mail at jallenfinn@planmembersec.com or call our office (713) 520-0010.

Getting Started with Retirement Planning

Individual financial advice and retirement planning is your road map to a more secure financial future. There are no two retirement plans that are alike. Specific calculations are completed for each individual/couple. We compare the occasional pension plan and current 401k balances as well as projected Social Security, TRS or ERS plus other present retirement investments with your projected retirement needs. Then, based on these comparisons, we provide recommendations that will allow you to strengthen your economic health. EFS would be pleased to provide this personal retirement plan and advice anytime, and always, complimentary. Another way to say it is that we see where you are and where you need or want to be and see what it takes to get you there.

Feel free to give us a call or email us. We want to help advise you. Our Houston Main Office number for Jay Finn, CPA, LLC is (713) 520-0010.

TRS Eligibility

Your eligibility for service retirement is determined by your age and years of TRS service credit. In combination, your age and years of service credit, along with the date you joined TRS and your eligibility for grandfathering, determine when you are eligible for an unreduced, normal-age retirement annuity or for an early-age retirement annuity reduced according to actuarial tables or based on a flat percentage rate.
